Hmmm....... This will be interesting
Well we had an update from the builder today and its a bit of good and a bit of bad news.
Good News: Our frame and windows are finished and ready for delivery.
Bad News: We dont have a slab yet
Even more concerning news: We still dont know when we will have a slab. Earliest possible new start date mid next week. Builder is meeting concretor on site next Tue, if all goes according to plan they may start next Wed.
Trying to think positive news: Once we have a slab they frame and windows will be delivered in a flash. Just need 24 hours to schedule the delivery.
Me with cranky pants delivering news to builder: Do not put my windows or frame anywhere near my block till I have a slab.
OK time to stop thinking about this now.
In other news our street is ridiculously busy. 18 out of 22 houses in our little cul de sac have now started construction. You can just drive down the street squeezing between concrete trucks and chippies and plumbers and plasterers and there dogs.
Good to see the street coming along, still hoping to be in by Xmas and hopefully most of the street will be in by then also.
Trying to fill my time boring everyone on H1 with stupidly long posts full of blah blah blah. And living vicariously through my neighbours progress.

Oh do i know that feeling! I think we should do a swap as we have builders waiting to put slab down but delayed for 2 weeks because of a delay on the frame! Grrr.
ReplyDeleteOne of our neighbours has had a slab for aggesss but is delayed as frame ppl are behind because of increase in demand after FHOG. Our builder wants to do them both together so we are waiting (yet again) til mid May (not January 2010 as first predicted!) *pout*
Its totally unfair for your builder to make you wait for your neigbour. Our builder has another job in the next street which was always planned to start after us. Looks like both will be happening together which annoys me cause they jumped the queue. We finalised plans first, were approved by council first. They have a slab already cause of FHOG but there frame isnt ready yet.
ReplyDeleteOur builder said the frame came through quicker than expected but he was expecting a slab by now which is why he ordered it.
The slab next door to us was laid yesterday and its almost the same footprint so maybe we will just building on theirs. Surely they wont mind :0
