Neighbourhood progress

Still nothing to report on my build but at least my neighbours are moving along. The M Riva across the road has bricks started, they need scaffold now to continue. The EB next door is getting slab today, 2 other slabs in the street are also finished and 1 more has had a proper scrape. It great to see the street coming getting started after waiting so long to get to this stage.

Site start delayed

My builder has advised he wont be able to start this week as planned. He is still waiting on some insurance paperwork to be finalised so it will be late next week at the earliest before we start. So for us the frustration continues, and its totally out of our hands. I keep trying to remind myself that we have already waited so long that a few more days wont make much difference. So for now I just need to live vicariously through the progress of my neighbours :)

Progress in our Street

Its all starting to happen this week.The M frame across the road is fully up and roughed in. My neighbour had a site scrape today (where the rubble is to the left ) and 2 new slab are in progress as well. Looking foward to posting about my site start next Monday.

Pool and Spa Expo

Went and had a look yesterday. It was not a very big expo but there was a few things for us to look at. Mainly wanted to get an idea on pool renders for the inside of our concrete pool , as well as pumps and filters. We need to make our selections to let the builder know. The builder doing our house is also doing the pool. We found and awesome render coating which had glass beads in it and is super reflective. It will be about 3k to do our pool and the sales guy told us that what Ricky Ponting has in his pool. I think Andy was sold on that point :)

Prelim Site Start Booked !

Builder has advised us today that he will start on our block on Monday 22 Feb.



He also said it may be earlier ,say next Thur 18 Feb if he can. We are very excited ! I will be late to work that day so I can watch my trees come down.
 
The street is really starting to crank the Metricon across the street had the frame finished today and 2 of the EB's in the street were scraped today.

Present from my neighbour

Just did a drive by and found my neighbours have left their tree stumps in the middle of my block. I will move them back to his side if they are still their when we start next week.

Kitchen island

This is the look I am going for with my kitchen island drawers on the front like this with a deep kick and shadow line under the caesar stone on the back side there will be dish washer in the centre with single undermount sink to the right. Cupboards under the sink and drawers at the other end.

Floor tiles 600 x 600

We have a sample of this tile to put on the dowstairs floors entry, family, kitchen and laundry. They are an off white towards beige colour and will go well with any carpet. We pick up the bathroom feature tiles today and I will try and get a bathroom floor sample too.

Water and Electricity Accounts

Just called and made sure that the accounts were in our names. I didn't want building delayed because I didn't connect the services when the tradies need them. Got a reference number for the sparky, water just made sure they had our billing address and the plumber does the rest.
We have a meeting tomorrow with the builder and another one with our own subbie who is doing alarm, cabling and keyless entry.
