Last week I had concretors, surveyors and my construction manager all hanging around at the site.
They have all agreed that the trees need to come down real soon and have told me it may be either Mon 15 March 10 or Tue 16. As the house next door is currently getting the tiles on (and have had them delivered to the middle of my land) we need to get trees down and site fence up ASAP. Don't want to have my slab delayed because my neighbours bricks have been delivered to my block.
As the concreters were planning on taking them down when they excavate the site they were holding off on removal until they had the certifiers approval to start the build. Understandably they didnt want to take all of the machinery out for the trees to then have to bring it back again later to do the excavation.
I am not going to get my hopes up until it happens though.
Been getting some more ideas on landscaping stuff this weeks. See pics below.
Love the look of timber near the pool, with the lighter colour coping.
This one is similar the the space we will have down the side of the house looking towards our pool.
This one is the same garden as the last photo but instead of the spa I would like to have a nice day bed to be built in front of the pool filters and pumps. It would make a nice focal point through the sliding door on the side of our family room.
Love this carved stone feature, not sure where I would use something like this but it looks nice.
We also need to consider Doggy proofing the yard as our Border Collie loves to run laps and do donuts all over the yard. When planning the layout of the yard we need to consider where she will run so we can put in materials to stop her signs of damage. In our old yard she had carved a perfect figure 8 in the grass and in winter any boggy or shady areas she corered in, turned to mud.
We are considering decking, pavers, stones and even astro turf for the areas of the new yard likely to be shady in winter.
